You Found a Placethe Rest of the WorldHasn't Discovered Yet.

A private bay, ancient watchtowers, and the kind of silence that only exists where the sea meets seven centuries of stone. You don't need a photographer who shows up - you need one who already knows where the light falls at golden hour between the Faraglioni.

Why Scopello - Through My Lens
The Tonnara Photographs Differently Than Any Other Venue in Sicily.

The light here is unlike anywhere else on the island. The stone walls are warm ochre by morning, deep amber by afternoon, and almost rose-gold in the last hour before sunset. The Faraglioni stacks create natural framing that no photographer could invent.

I've photographed celebrations here where the ceremony was on the clifftop terrace, cocktails in the courtyard with centuries-old stone underfoot, and the first dance under a sky that looked like someone had painted it. The Tonnara doesn't need decoration - it needs a photographer who knows how to let it breathe.

What I bring to your Scopello wedding: the knowledge of which courtyard catches the best light for portraits, which stairway creates the most cinematic descent, and the exact moment when the sun aligns between the two towers.

The Courtyard & Stone Arches

Seven hundred years of fishing history in every wall. The warm stone and weathered doors create a palette that makes skin tones glow in afternoon light. Your getting-ready portrait begin here.

The Faraglioni Viewpoint

Those two iconic sea stacks are your natural backdrop - no styling needed. The clifftop terrace at sunset is where couples tell me they felt the most present in their entire wedding day.

The Private Beach

Crystal-clear Mediterranean water, wooden jetty, and the Tonnara rising behind you. The Kind of image that stops someone mid-scroll. Perfect for post-ceremony couple portraits.

The Watchtowers

Two towers - one medieval, one 15th century - framing the cove like sentinels. At dusk, the ancient stone catches a colour I've only ever seen in this exact spot on the Sicilian coast.

01

I Know What the Tonnara Hides

The cave that becomes a dance floor. The stairway where the bridal party photograph writes itself. The ten-minute window when the sun hits the courtyard archway perfectly. I've mapped every corner.

"Alex knew exactly where to take us — we just followed and every shot was effortless."Chiara & Luca, Italy

02

Privacy Is the Point

You chose Scopello because you want your celebration to feel contained, intimate, protected. My approach mirrors that — present but invisible, capturing without interrupting.

"We forgot there was even a camera. Every photo feels like a real moment."Sofia & Michael, USA

Film Grain Meets Ancient Stone

Kodak Portra 400 and Tonnara stone were made for each other. The organic grain of analog film complements the texture of centuries-old walls in a way digital alone can't replicate. Your album will feel like an heirloom from the day it's printed.

"The film photos are our favourites — they feel like they've always existed."Anna & Mark, United Kingdom

Beyond the Ceremony
Your Scopello Weekend - Not Just Your Wedding Day

Your guests are arriving from across the world to one of the most secluded spots in the Mediterranean. Make every moment count.

The welcome dinner in the Tonnara's courtyard with Sicilian wines and the sound of the sea below. A morning hike along the Riserva dello Zingaro with the cliffs dropping into turquoise water. An afternoon boat ride past the Faraglioni with just the two of you.

I photograph all of it — because the best stories don't start at the ceremony. They start the moment your world gathers in one extraordinary place.

About Alex
Why I Do
This Work

Hi, I'm Alex. I fell in love with wedding photography not because of cameras or compositions — but because of people.

There's something sacred about being invited into someone's most important day. The nervousness before the ceremony. The father's eyes when he sees his daughter. The way you two look at each other when no one's watching.

That's what makes me feel alive.

I grew up in Sicily, surrounded by extraordinary light and endless stories. My approach is quiet, intuitive, human. You live your day — I capture it unfolding naturally.

Questions About Scopello Weddings
Everything You
Need to Know
How familiar are you with Tonnara di Scopello+

Extremely. I've photographed multiple celebrations at the Tonnara and know every courtyard, stairway, and light condition throughout the day. I do a pre-wedding walkthrough with every couple to plan the timeline around the best natural light.

Can you photograph the rehearsal dinner and day-after activities too?+

Absolutely - and I recommend it. Scopello weddings are multi-day celebrations. The welcome dinner, the morning-after brunch, a couple session at the Zingaro reserve - these moment round out your story beautifully. Multi-day coverage is avaible as an enhancement.

What happens if the weather is bad?+

The Tonnara has stunning covered spaces including stone-walled rooms and sheltered courtyards. Some of my most atmospheric work has been captured in unexpected weather - moody skies over the Faraglioni create images with incredible drama.

Is there accommodation on-site?+

Yes — the Tonnara has 15 beautifully restored apartments that can host up to 55 guests, all with sea views. The setting is intimate and rustic, not five-star resort - which is exactly the charm. Additional hotels are available in nearby Scopello village and Castellammare del Golfo.

How far in advance should we book you for a Scopello wedding?+

12-18 months is ideal, especially for peak season (May-October). The Tonnara itself books far in advance, so couples who secure the venue early usually contact me around the same time. I occasionally have last-minute availability — it's always worth asking.
